Giga Scale IC Completes Integration of VCX Software with InCyte; Webinar Series Planned July 13, 15 to Demonstrate New Features of InCyte
CUPERTINO, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—July 1, 2004—
Giga Scale Integration Corporation (Giga Scale IC(TM))
has commenced shipping the latest version of its InCyte(R) product
family that includes a link to the VCX Software Ltd.'s intellectual
property (IP) access and management technology. The integration of
InCyte with VCX's software offers fast and easy interaction between
users and suppliers of semiconductor IP.
Four one-hour Webinars for IP providers and VCX partners will be
held July 13 and 15 at 9 a.m. PDT and 4 p.m. PDT to demonstrate
InCyte's new capabilities. Registration is open until July 12. To
register, send email to: Susan.Carmichael@thevcx.com.
InCyte now offers users the ability to browse the VCX IP Portal
Catalog of more than 2,500 blocks that is updated daily. They can view
the combined IP catalog from VCX and Giga Scale IC from the Incyte
Macro browser, search by class of IP, view datasheets and get
information on area, power, and the number of gates.
Additionally, by clicking on the VCX Gateway icon, a browser panel
opens in InCyte that connects them directly to the VCX IP Portal.
VCX Software's library augments InCyte's database that currently
contains more than 1,300 soft IP components and several hundred
foundation IP libraries.
InCyte lets users evaluate IP with the rest of the integrated
circuit (IC). Users can instantiate the IP into the design and get
updated estimates. InCyte's new Compare utility creates plots and
tables displaying results of multiple estimations for key parameters
that includes area, yield, power and leakage. InCyte's register
transfer level (RTL) Calculator allows soft cores to be estimated and
retargeted to new technologies.
IP vendors can exchange full or partial IP datasheets and actual
IP data while users simultaneously access InCyte's servers for rapid
estimation and analysis. Uniquely, proprietary or confidential
evaluation data can then be exchanged directly between parties,
through the newly developed interface by VCX Software and Giga Scale.
The dramatic business benefit to InCyte users who want to rapidly
explore their IC designs, and their potential IP providers, has been
one of the compelling reasons for this new design environment's
development.
With InCyte, users can build a Silicon Virtual Model(TM) (SVM) of
an IC that includes detailed specifications, floorplan and Bill of
Materials for the IP on the chip. InCyte's capabilities allow
optimization at the architectural and implementation levels, taking
full advantage of data found in the specification of the IP and their
design kits.
About VCX Software
VCX Software Ltd. provides software tools, databases and services
to improve the efficiency of using semiconductor intellectual property
(IP) for SOC design. The company's products, which are based on years
of experience and technology development in IP management, are
designed for both users and providers of IP, enabling them to better
prepare, manage, market, locate, evaluate, and acquire IP. This
results in reduced time to market and expense for IP providers and
users. VCX Software will maintain a supply of information-based
products for other players in the semiconductor supply chain as a
means to increase the number of access points for customers. VCX
Software is a privately held company based in Livingston, Scotland.

About Giga Scale IC
Founded in 2003, Giga Scale Integration Corporation -- or Giga
Scale IC(TM) -- is a private Electronic Design Automation (EDA)
software company that develops InCyte(R), the first Specification
Optimization System for integrated circuit (IC) design. Used during
the Specify and Create phases of design, InCyte generates a Silicon
Virtual Model(TM) (SVM) containing power, leakage, speed, die size,
yield and cost for different processes. InCyte includes a
specification cockpit, floorplanner and estimator bundled with
semiconductor intellectual property (IP) to create the SVM. The SVM
interfaces with other EDA tools and is used across the semiconductor
supply chain to ensure compliance with the specification. Giga Scale
IC corporate headquarters are located at: 10050 North Wolfe Road,
Suite SW1-266, Cupertino, Calif. 95014. Telephone: 408-255-0444.
